One fall afternoon in 2009, a few musicians got together to play and record music with a special purpose: not to play songs, but to improvise melodies and rhythms into forms akin to songs, and then listen back to the recordings.

Since then, over 50 musicians have joined in on the fun. To varying degrees each has lent their individual ideas, style and talent to the project.While Jam I Am signifies something different for each individual, we all share a love of live, improvisational music, the company of good friends and fine food.
